THE ROAD TO DENVER
_edited.jpg)
S.T.R.A.N.D. BREAKS THROUGH THE NOISE | AUGUST 2024
After hosting multiple independent workshops for professionals, S.T.R.A.N.D. was invited to the annual Bronner Brothers Beauty Show to discuss scalp care with both industry professionals and consumer audiences.
S.T.R.A.N.D.’s team of dermatologists and cosmetologists provided scalp screenings to help identify and discuss common concerns, while creating space for open conversations around proper product use and navigating access to healthcare systems.
On the main stage, the S.T.R.A.N.D. team debunked common scalp care misconceptions. The strong audience response sparked a new vision: to host community-centered conversations that bring science-based scalp and hair care education directly to the public.

COMMUNITY DAYS EXPAND ACCESS TO SCALP HEALTH EDUCATION | JULY 2025
Following the launch of the dermatologic salon, S.T.R.A.N.D. introduced smaller Community Day activations to help bridge the access gap to science-based, inclusive scalp health education. Designed as informative brunch gatherings, these events invite attendees into an intimate setting for panel discussions and Q&A sessions with board-certified dermatologists and cosmetologists specializing in scalp care.
Since the program’s inception in July 2025, Your Scalp, Your Skin™ Community Days have been hosted in Maryland and Alabama, as well as in partnership with the Magic City Expo community conference, collectively serving 249 community members.
S.T.R.A.N.D. LAUNCHES PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOP PROGRAMS | DECEMBER 2023
The first S.T.R.A.N.D. Workshop was held on April of 2024, bringing cosmetologists and dermatologists together to learn the collaborative care model that inspired the co-founders’ dermatologic salon concept. Through these workshops, cosmetologists are trained in the science of scalp and hair health by dermatologists specializing in hair loss, while dermatologists gain insight into how to effectively partner with cosmetologists to increase monitoring between visits, reduce response time, and strengthen referral pathways.
Since launching, S.T.R.A.N.D. has hosted four workshops and certified more than 121 S.T.R.A.N.D. Certified Stylists.

THE FIRST POP-UP DERMATOLOGIC SALON DEBUTS | JULY 2025
The Your Scalp, Your Skin™ community health initiative debuted over the Fourth of July weekend in New Orleans with S.T.R.A.N.D.’s first pop-up dermatologic salon. Coinciding with Essence Festival, the salon offered festivalgoers complimentary styling sessions from licensed cosmetologists alongside scalp assessments from board-certified dermatologists.
Over the course of three days, the activation served and educated more than 267 attendees, equipping them with knowledge, guidance, and referrals to continue their scalp care journey long after the pop-up ended.

S.T.R.A.N.D. TAKES THE DERMATOLOGIC SALON TO DENVER | MARCH 2026
Now, S.T.R.A.N.D. is excited to host our first pop-up dermatologic salon of 2026 in Denver, Colorado, bringing complimentary styling sessions and scalp care education to the community. For one day, The Museum for Black Girls will be transformed into a fully immersive dermatologic salon experience offering styling sessions, hair care treatments, and consultations with board-certified dermatologists.
Through this activation, attendees will gain personalized guidance on scalp health and learn how to find dermatologists and cosmetologists who are best aligned to support their specific scalp and hair concerns.
THE STYLING TEAM
SHAMPOO, BLOWDRY, & STYLE FOR ALL TEXTURES
Enjoy a complimentary styling session, including a shampoo, blow dry, and style, with a S.T.R.A.N.D. Certified Stylist who has been trained by dermatologists to recognize and care for scalp concern on a range of skin types and hair textures.
