ABOUT THE S.T.R.A.N.D NETWORK
Created in collaboration with board-certified dermatologist Dr. Chesahna Kindred and natural hair care industry leader Susan L. Peterkin, who established the first dermatologic salon, S.T.R.A.N.D. stands for "Stylists Training, Researching, And Networking with Dermatologists." The program provides beauty professionals with medical grade education on the biology of the scalp and hair, common hair loss and scalp conditions, treatment methods, styling solutions, guidance on when to collaborate with dermatologists for advanced treatment, and more. All education is taught by dermatologists who study hair loss on a medical level and the hair care professionals they have trained.
“For far too long, hairstylists and dermatologists have been playing for the same team, but have not been communicating.” -Dr. Kindred
Beyond education, S.T.R.A.N.D. encourages collaborative research between stylists and dermatologists by conducting case studies and product testing to advance hair loss solutions in their respective fields.
