Peterkin, who established the first dermatologic salon, S.T.R.A.N.D. stands for "Stylists Training, Researching, And Networking with Dermatologists." All education is taught by dermatologists who study hair loss on a medical level and the hair care professionals they have trained.

“For far too long, hairstylists and dermatologists have been playing for the same team, but have not been communicating.” -Dr. Kindred

Beyond education, S.T.R.A.N.D. encourages collaborative research between stylists and dermatologists by conducting case studies and product testing to advance hair loss solutions in their respective fields.
