Join the S.T.R.A.N.D. Network™ in Maryland for a two-day community & stylist activation bringing together board-certified dermatologists, licensed stylists, and community members to learn, connect, and take action on hair and scalp health. Our Your Scalp, Your Skin™ Community Day events are designed to encourage early detection, accurate diagnosis, and culturally competent care by combining medical expertise with in-salon practices. Learn more about our past Your Scalp, Your Skin™ Community Days here.

Community members & stylists will participate in a Q&A panel on November 16th at no cost while learning how stylists and dermatologists can work together to detect concerns early, debunk misinformation, encourage proper care practices, and find the appropriate service providers.

Stylists can participate in a technical styling class on November 17th with master cosmetologist Susan L. Peterkin and our team of S.T.R.A.N.D. Certified Stylists to learn hair-loss-safe loc styling, twist styling, shampooing, and cutting techniques. MEET THE
FOUNDERS

S.T.R.A.N.D.™ is a stylist education organization that connects hair stylists and dermatologists. Stylists receive medical-based education directly from dermatologists to recognize early signs of potential health concerns that manifest in the hair and scalp, while learning when to refer clients to a dermatologist for diagnosis and medical treatment. At the same time, stylists learn how to care for clients on a physical and emotionally intelligent level in the salon.

Through its programs, S.T.R.A.N.D. fosters collaboration with dermatologists to help develop consistent, personalized treatment plans for clients.
